
Colleen Maio was born and raised on Long Island, NY. She attended Boston University and received her bachelor and master degrees in Speech Language Pathology. She has worked with a variety of populations and disorders, however, now focuses her time on working with pediatrics patients. She has a special place in her heart for children on the autism spectrum, and has extensive experience working with this wonderful population.
Colleen works full time in a Boston area public early childhood school working with pre-school and kindergarten students while she starts to build up her private practice. During after school hours, she works in an outpatient rehabilitation hospital treating pediatric patients. In addition to seeing patients, Colleen also participates in professional development courses in order to remain up to date on the latest research and new therapy techniques.
Colleen founded New England Speech Therapy in 2015 in order to provide local families with the highest quality care, differential diagnosis and a multidisciplinary approach to the overall treatment of patients. Colleen is known for having the utmost care for others and the desire to make others the best they can be. Her connection with the community allows her to provide parents with the information they need to make the best decisions regarding the care of their loved one.
In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her loving and supportive husband and their French Bulldog, Jazzy.
